As computers are being used more and more in education, there will be soon no role for the teachers in the classroom.

It is very clear that modern world depend on computers, but it will take a long time until a human teacher could be replaced by a machine. Of course this doesn’t mean that computer’s presences in learning process is not important or not helpful, but a “human touch” it will always be necessary in education.

To begin with, people are not the same, everybody have his own rhythm on understanding and learning, and from this point of view a computer cannot answer to student’s needs. A non human tutor it is incapable to notice that a child is bored by the lesson or when he only memorize but not understand it. On the other hand, teachers would permanently adapt their methods, and will know how to motivate, attract and arouse children’s desire for knowledge.  

Moreover, under the guise of affordable education many people praise the idea of virtual teacher but they forgot about the downside of this matter. Many of those courses (mail or online) doesn’t require to be in a classroom and this can remove the chance of learner to socialize, and interact with the others. Often they are not prepared for world challenges.

To summarize, I believe, with today technology, it is impossible to imagine that computers could take full responsibility of teaching a human at any level. Although a computer could do many things like analyze an essay from the point of view of spelling, it will never be able to “understand” the esthetic part of an essay, and, as long as we don’t create an Artificial Intelligence with “feelings” we cannot talk about replacing teachers with computers.
